Default Please protect my cad dwg files

please give me a cad autolisp that can work for acadr14, acad2000 and ADT. Cause im a designer and doing so many autocad dwgs, plans and details. however others usually copy my files without my proper consent. What i want is a autolisp command that can view my entire drawings when i open it, can zoom or pan anywhere but cannot be modified or edited, copied, or erased without a specific command (or even a password) to protect my files.

thanks. and sorry im a beginner with autolisp.

As far as I know, there is no way for autolisp to do this.

There is a program you can buy that can password protect drawings called CADLock.
http://www.cadlock.com

This should do what you want.

Hope this helps.
Glenn

Send your files as DWF files. They can be viewed but not edited.

Who do you want to prevent copying your drawings? Clients, or those in your office? If clients, then there is "minsert". By doing the following, your drawing cannot be exploded and easily modified.

1: Wblock your drawing
2: In new drawing, ?MInsert? drawing with 1 row,2 columns, and set the distance to 0 between columns.
Now you can send the drawing to someone, it can be viewed but not exploded and changed.
The only drawback with this is that the drawing has to be all paper space, or all model space.

HOWEVER, you can use DDEdOne to change any text, dimension or not, after using minsert as explained above. See how devious I can be

Even if it's MINSERTED, it's also a block that can be inserted and exploded or WBLOCKed to a new drawing.

Andy:
I Google'd and Yahoo'd "DDEdOne", and searched the ACAD help files for it, but I still couldn't find anything on it. Typing it at the command line doesn't do anything here. Could you shed some light on it?

Cadaver:
Did you try the steps mentioned?
From ACAD Help file:
"Tip: If you want to prevent blocks from being exploded, use an array larger than 1x1 when using the MINSERT command."
By entering a distance of 0, you only see one. If you try and explode it, you will get this: "1 was minserted"

OK, Here here y'are:

Go to http://www.users.bigpond.com/stevejohnson/Download.htm

and you'll find it. It's program called DDEdText. I bought it although you can download a trial version of it. Take my word for it, if it's text, you can change it. Block, insert, x-ref, dimension, it doesn't care.

Have fun with this one because it's a miracle worker in some instances. Amaze you friends. And co-workers.

Andy
